  • Position Purpose

    The Senior Director of Human Resources oversees and leads the following major areas of responsibility: talent acquisition, payroll administration, HRIS, total rewards management, as well as compliance, employee relations, organizational development and succession planning. This position leads the team of Human Resources professionals to ensure the execution of organizational initiatives, coupled with day-to-day management of HR practices.  The Senior Director of Human Resources reports into and works closely with the Vice President of Promethean Services in implementing, achieving and maintaining the organization’s goals and objectives. The Senior Director of Human Resources reports directly to the Sr. Vice President, Promethean Services and has a bonus potential of 20%.

    Essential Functions

    Leadership - Establish and implement annual objectives for the Promethean Services Department, including an annual business plan and budget. Participate in the budget process as it relates to costs related to staffing, HRIS, compensation, benefit costs, and employee/labor relations costs, etc. Prepare and maintain operating budget.  Monitor staff turnover and recommend changes and improvements. Provide proactive analysis of future needs for organization to promote the recruitment, recognition and retention of employees in alignment with business goals.

    Oversight of team to provide timely, thorough and accurate service to the broad employee population. Team includes 1.5 (recruitment); 2 (payroll); 1 (benefits/HRIS); 1 (compensation/reporting); 2.5 (employee relations/compliance/other).

    Recruitment and Employee Relations Responsibilities - Develop, direct and oversee recruitment and hiring strategies for all exempt and non-exempt operations positions and corporate positions as needed. Conduct ongoing assessments of the talent, skills and knowledge critical for sustaining high levels of organizational performance. Support and uphold company philosophy concerning hiring, employee relations, supervision and disciplinary action.  Establish, maintain and ensure adherence to all HR-related policies and procedures. Provide guidelines, direction and support in the administration of the disciplinary process.

    HRIS and Payroll Management - Research and recommend HR technology solutions, produces cost/benefit analysis, and acts as lead project manager for approved implementations/integrations and or upgrades. Ensures timely and accurate payroll processing; Audits payroll to ensure accuracy.

    Benefits and Compensation Management - Analyze internal compensation data and external salary information (e.g., competitors, salary surveys,  etc.); Obtain and analyze current employee salary information, prepare market analysis and define compensation recommendations to assist management in the compensation decision-making process; Monitor compensation ranges to ensure pay equity and competitiveness. Oversight of Benefits Management strategy to enhance wellness focus; planning and execution of open enrollment, financial reconciliation and cost containment. Responsible for ensuring LOA management and Workers Compensation programs meets all legal requirements.

    Organizational Capabilities – Application of change management principles to ensure alignment of people with process; Periodic check-in of initiative end-users and clients to ensure continuity; Development and publishing of the HR/Organizational Capabilities Scorecard and other project reporting; Partner with other key Promethean Leaders on initiatives and succession planning processes.

    Compliance - Oversee and investigate all employee relations and labor-related matters as they relate to federal, state and local employment and civil rights laws, including, but not limited to, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, workers’ compensation and comparable state and local laws, and general human and civil rights.  Maintain and administer employment, wage and salary, benefit, OSHA, ERISA, ADA and incentive programs (where applicable). Ensure all policies (Handbook) and procedures are current and compliant.

    General Responsibilities – Champions and ensures positive impact of all Recognition initiatives and award programs; Ensures execution of high-profile employee appreciation events throughout the year. Indirect oversight through recruitment for the SOS team (approx. 12) of in-house trained floaters that fill long-term needs in the Field.

    Upholding Standards - Perform additional duties and handle projects as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources;  Comply fully with all Prometheus Real Estate Group rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the Prometheus Real Estate Group’s facilities; Occasional travel will be required.

    Required Qualifications, Skills, And Experience

    The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

     

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

     

    • Minimum of ten (10)+ years’ experience in Human Resources.

     

    • Minimum of five (5) years management experience in Human Resources or similar position.

     

    • Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, workers’ compensation, wage and hour requirements, etc., including, but not limited to the following statutes and their comparable state and local laws (where applicable): Title VII, ADEA, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, FMLA, ERISA, and NLRA.

     

    • Expertise knowledge and best practices in the complex administration of compensation, benefits as well as payroll processing.

     

    • PHR or SPHR required.

     

     

    • Must possess advanced computational skills; Must have the ability to compute rate, discounts, interest, bonus and commissions. Must be able to prepare and analyze data figures and apply data.

     

    • Computer proficient in Windows, MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, OneSite and the Internet.

     

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     

    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

     

    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or scheduled form.

     

    • Ability to speak, communicate, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace including, but not limited to, English in order to maintain safety in the workplace and serve internal and external customers.

     

    • Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks and to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions.

     

    • Ability to create, implement and monitor company and staff goals, strategies and policies.
