INTERNSHIP SUMMARY 

 

The Learning & Development (L&D) Internship is a 12-week paid ($16/hr.) program that will provide you with a "behind the scenes" look at the training operations of Prometheus, the largest private owner of multifamily properties in the Bay Area. In the internship, you will work with and be exposed to multiple aspects of the training industry, including the learning management system, training facilitation, workshop design and the property management industry as a whole. In this role, you will assist the L&D Team with the following:

 

  • Training Administration
    • Manage training through the Learning Management System (LMS), known as "The Academy"
    • Run reports to ensure completion of all online trainings
    • Prepare training invoices and food orders
    • General organization of materials and collateral
  • Training Workshop Coordination
    • Attend all core Prometheus trainings and workshops
    • Coordinate training sessions, including logistics, room scheduling, registration, room set-up and break down. Prepare training invoices and food orders
    • Assist in updating training material collateral for workshops
  • Support of Promethean Services (Human Resources)
    • Assist with ad hoc HR projects ands tasks as presented
    • Support the Promethean Services team with preparation and planning for Promethean events and activities

At the end of the internship you will complete a Capstone Project centered upon what you have learned about our company and the industry, which you will present to our leadership team. As part of your Capstone Project, you will also be responsible for preparing and coordinating all of the logistics and details for the Capstone presentation workshop. The internship program is scheduled to begin June 1st and finish on August 18th, but special exceptions can be made depending on your school's academic calendar. 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Your Skillset - You have a passion for starting a career in Learning & Development and are proficient in Microsoft Office (including Powerpoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook). Experience working with HTML and Adobe InDesign are both preferred.

  • Your EducationYou are either a current college undergraduate student or recent college graduate (Bachelor's degree). Students with degrees concentrating in Training and Development or Human Resoruce Management are preferred.

  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, other employees, clients, residents, and the general public.
  • Must possess basic computational skills; add, subtract, divide, and multiply.  Must have the ability to compute rate, discounts, interest, and commissions.  Must be able to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions generated by a computer
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Ability to speak, communicate, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace including, but not limited to, English in order to maintain safety in the workplace and serve internal and external customers
