INTERNSHIP SUMMARY

The Neighborhood (Property Management) Internship is a 12-week paid ($16/hr.) program that will provide you with an inside look at the real estate operations of Prometheus, the largest private owner of multifamily properties in the Bay Area. In the internship, you will progress through a rotational training experience, spending time shadowing the following roles at multiple Neighborhoods (properties):

  • Neighbor Ambassador (Leasing Specialist)
  • Assistant Neighborhood Director (Assistant Property Manager)
  • Neighborhood Administrator (Property Administrator)
  • Neighborhood Service Manager (Maintenance Supervisor)
  • Neighborhood Director (Property Manager)
  • Sr. Neighborhood Director (General Manager)
  • Commercial Property Manager

At the end of the internship you will complete a Capstone Project centered upon what you have learned about our company and industry, which you will present to our leadership team. The internship program is scheduled to begin June 18th and finish on August 31st, but special exceptions can be made depending on your school's academic calendar.

YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT

As a Neighborhood Intern, you will focus on developing an understanding of the following core competencies of our Neighborhood operations:

  • Customer Service - Simply put, it's our job to make sure our Neighbors feel at HOME, ridiculously well-cared for and genuinely proud to live in our Neighborhoods. We want to show them tomorrow matters.
  • Sales - Make renting easy. Before they become Neighbors, they are Future Neighbors, and we are here to guide them through our Ultimate Leasing Experience.
  • Operations Management - Every detail counts. Whether it's creating market reports, preparing rental agreements, inspecting vacant apartments, or posting apartment ads, you'll learn how we keep our Neighborhoods humming.

As you can tell, you'll be busy, but our Prometheans love that. Every day brings something a little different and challenges you to grow in new ways.

You will be expected to work a 40-hour work week, and your scheduled days off will change throughout the internship to match the schedule of the position you are shadowing. That will include working weekends for over half of the internship.
  • Your Cultural Traits - Although we’re a highly dispersed organization by the nature of our business, our Prometheans are strongly united by our Purpose, Mission and our Cultural Traits. These are the defining characteristics of a Promethean: Team Oriented, Communicator, Entrepreneurial, Passionate, Self-Starter, Creative, Principled, and Brand Ambassador.
